Designed as an extension of Yoga Foundations or a similar yoga basics course at another studio, Continuing Foundations is an eight-week series designed for the student with some yoga experience desiring to refine their practice. It’s also appropriate for yogis returning to their practice after an absence or seeking to refresh their knowledge. We’ll learn more intricate alignment principles, learn variations on the basic postures, discuss the relationship between breath and movement, and deepen our understanding of basic yoga philosophy. This class is presented in a seminar-style format, with an eight-week syllabus and a different topic each week. Conversation and questions during class are encouraged, and some optional homework will be offered so you can practice between classes. Sample weekly topics include revolved variations of standing poses, refining shoulder alignment, principles of backbending, and core strength for yogis.
